Description
The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Barichara, Santander, Colombia is as known for its terra cota colored stone and spanish colonial style architecture as it is for its religious reverence. This town has remained almost untouched by modern advances as it seeks to preserve its colonial and cultural heritage now over 3 centuries old. In 1975 Barichara was proclaimed as Colombia's most beautiful village and in 1978 it was declared a national monument!

Thank you so much Lois!! Dusting off some images from a while back...this one brings back some great memories...not of climbing around on roofs though! Lol!! I actually caught this from the top of the hill behind the town site...perfect backdrop for photos! And it was worth it...if it hasn't been so late in the day I'd have loved to have gotten more! ...next time!!
